Abby Samuels has been an RN for 8 years. Since completing her associate degree in nursing (ADN) basic nursing education, she has worked on a medical unit where many of her patients are terminally ill. She has become very interested in palliative care. Abby would like to become an APN so that she can work more directly with terminally ill patients and their families on symptom and pain management. Her “dream job” is to be a family nurse practitioner (FNP) with expertise in palliative care, working in a hospice.
