Case StudySusan Schultz, CMA (AAMA), is working as a clinical medical assistant today with Dr. Penningworth. The doctors next patient is a new patient, Marshall Raines. Susan immediately notices a yellowish tint to his eyeballs, and because he is wearing shorts, she can see that his legs are slightly swollen and very bruised. She also notices a faint odor of alcohol. When Susan asks Marshall what has brought him to the office, he informs her that he has recently succumbed to alcohol after being sober for three months. Also, for the past few days he hasnt been feeling right.
